  • Place To Be

    Place To Be Who? Students in grades 1-6 that are involved in another program and need a place to be When? Mondays - Thursdays 3:30-5:30 Where? McGregor School High School Library The Place To Be is our after school programming for students that are enrolled in another sport or activity that isn’t always right after school or students that are in programs that may get done before 5:30. This is the place to be during that waiting time. The Place To Be offers a variety of activities for students. We pride ourselves in having fun, learning & exploring. A light snack is provided along with many choices of station activities such as: Legos, arts/crafts, homework help, imagination land, outdoor explorers, books, game time & more. The center is open Mondays-Thursdays when school is in session. Join us to make new friends, learn new things & have fun! Students must be picked up at the High School Entrance doors BY 5:30pm.   • 3rd & 4th Grade Programming

    The Thrive Hive 3rd & 4th Grade After School Program Who? 3rd & 4th Graders When? Monday’s & Wednesday’s 3:30-5:30 Where? Thrive Center (181 North Maddy Street) This is an after school program for students in grades 3 & 4. Sessions will be held on Monday’s and Wednesday’s at the Thrive Center and include snack time, creative play, enrichment, academics, outdoor or indoor play, character building concepts, and FUN! The month’s activities will be posted on Eleyo when registration opens up. Students are expected to participate in the activities they sign up for! Sign up for specific dates or for the whole month! Registration is for one month at a time. By filling out this registration form you are signing your child up for one month of programming. You are also allowing photos of your child taken during activities to be used in newspaper or school publications. Please indicate if there are days your child will miss, otherwise we expect them at programming. Some months may include field trips. Students will be taking the school bus to the Thrive Center after school. Sarah Pierce in the elementary office will have the roster of kids and will make sure they get their bus pass. They will be riding bus #8. Students must be picked up at the Thrive Center BY 5:30pm. If you ever question whether or not the registration went through, check your e-mail. You will ALWAYS get a confirmation e-mail for programming. Always double check what you are signing up for because Eleyo allows us to have a waitlist for programs, so sometimes you are signing up for the waitlist, not to be in the actual program.This will also be on the confirmation e-mail.   • Reading Pals "On the Road"

    WHAT IS IT? The Reading Pals Program is looking for students in grades 1-3 who would like to “Pal Up” with Carefree Living Assisted Living community on highway 65, ½ mile north of McGregor. Students will be transported by van to and from Carefree Living where they will read and play table games with residents. This opportunity builds reading skills and provides social time for residents who enjoy intergenerational activities with children. WHEN IS IT? Reading Pal’s “On the Road” will happen every Thursday when school is in session. Students who sign up now will be active until Christmas break. Start Date: October 3rd Time: 3:30 -5:00 pm. Students should be picked up by the high school entrance. WHY DO IT? Intergenerational activities connect older adult and young people in positive relationships that support children to do well in school, engage youth and adults in building a better community, and provide a way for older adults to socialize when their activities may have become limited. Rewards: Reading Pals “On the Road!” provides participants tokens for our book vending machines. AND, will receive a $20 coupon to the book fair in January!
